Dec 2008 Ice Storm that knocks out Southern NH

After starting out as rain, the temperature dropped quickly and everything and I mean everything turned to ICE.  I was awoken during the night to the sounds of cracking and thuds. I got up, looked around a realized there was some serious weather going on. The trees were snapping at an unbelievable rate. Those that could were bent over like flexi-straws. I went back to bed and did fall asleep until about 4:45 AM when there was a rather loud "snap" and then came the "thud" that shook the house.  I woke my husband.
